Adding and Dropping Classes
Adding classes:
- Students may add classes during the first two weeks of the quarter if space is available in the class. Attend the first class meeting to get an Add Code label from the instructor if there is space in the class. The Add Code label is the instructor's permission to add the class.
- Log into your My De Anza account to add classes. First enter the four digit call number for the course and then add the four digit Add Code.
Dropping classes:
- Log into your My De Anza account to drop classes not requiring an instructor's signature
during the first three weeks of the quarter. There will also be no grade of record
on your official De Anza transcript. Only classes indicated on the DROP form must
have an instructor's signature.

- The Online registration system (for adding & dropping classes)
- From the beginning of the fourth week through the end of the eighth week of the quarter, students must submit a DROP form to the Admission and Records Office for each class to be dropped. Again, an instructor's signature is not required except for those classes listed on the DROP form. A grade of 'W' will be recorded.
- Students who have not withdrawn by the end of the eighth week will receive the appropriate grade for their achievement in the course.
It is the student's responsibility to drop him/herself from a course. Do not assume that just because you do not show up to a class at the beginning of the quarter that the instructor will automatically drop you.
