Meeting Notes - January 16, 2013

Additions to the agenda: Value Statements, Accreditation Planning Agendas, APRU Criteria. Reviewed and approved the notes from the 11/28/12 & 12/5/12 meetings.
Announcements - SSPBT will return to meeting the first and third Wednesday of the month. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 6th.
Position Reduction List - Cook provided an update on the changes to the Reduction List approved by College Council 10/12. Next steps - present to College Council 1/24/13 and the Board on 2/4/13. The list will be posted on the SSPBT web site as soon as possible. Due to the passing of Prop 30, the district has postponed the effective date of layoffs to 6/30/13. More information about the layoff process will be provided as soon as it is available.
Value Statements - The ten proposed value statements were reviewed and discussed. The timeline for adopting the statements is the end of May. The statements will be included in the orientation for new faculty and staff. Volunteers are needed to review the statements and provide input. Contact is Haynes.
Accreditation Planning Agendas - The SSPBT is assessing four planning agendas from Standard II for evidence that we are addressing and working on these planning agendas. Updates on the planning agendas will be included in the Mid Term Report due 2014-15.
APRU Criteria discussion - Postponed until the next meeting. Everyone was reminded completing the criteria is a priority so that APRU plans can be completed by end of the winter quarter.
Review of SSPBT Goals and where we are. Program Reviews in progress and SSPBT will finalize the criteria for review of the APRUs as soon as possible. Program Viability Process - work continues to connect with the Instructional process and will be presented to the College Council this quarter. SSPBT will continue to address Veterans, Foster Youth, Student Success Act and Technology goals at their meetings this quarter.
