SUBJECTNotification of Carryover Authority for Student Success and Support Program (SSSP) and Match update

After a review of the increased budget this year and requests from the field, the Chancellor’s Office has decided to provide a six-month carryover of spending authority for 2014-15 Student Success and Support Programs (SSSP) through December 31, 2015. This extension should provide colleges the opportunity to spend their SSSP allocations effectively and within the guidelines provided by our office. Please be sure to have staff carefully review their plans and budgets in order to determine if you will be able to spend your entire allocation for 2014-15 by December 31, 2015. This information will be included in the 2014-15 Carry-over Authority and 2014-15 Mid-Year Reports for Student Success and Support Program (Declaration of Unused Funds and Request for Reallocated Funds) which will be sent out later this week.

With respect to the match requirements, we have not yet set an actual match amount for the upcoming fiscal year allocation. While a specific local match calculation will depend on the amount provided to the SSSP in the enacted budget, the Chancellor’s Office will not seek to increase local contributions beyond 2014-15 levels.

We hope that this information will help you to plan appropriately for the efficient use of college resources now and in the future. Please contact me if you have any questions.
