The goal is to finalize the document by the end of the spring quarter.
IPBT Proposal for Assessment Project
The proposal is based on a plan other colleges have in place. Resources are set aside to spur plans that staff applies for. Instruction and Student Services have been asked to contribute (Instruction - $25,000 from augmentation funds). Cook will consider a SS contribution after reviewing our needs, which are different than instruction. Student Services will clarify their needs to be added to the process. 1) simplify the process, 2) clarify the purpose, 3) brainstorm projects. Haynes will send out the proposal.
Degree Works
There is concern about adopting and integrating Degree Works, which is important for developing Ed Plans. Other concerns identified - Browser to use, flow and saving information, (Veterans can use Degree Works to create their own Ed Plan). A & R is working to familiarize student veterans with Degree Works, because there are courses that aren’t approved by the VA. Students are using Degree Works a lot. Some students have the wrong course code and counselors have to correct them. Everyone is invited to test Degree Works to help resolve issues. For problems with Degree Works contact Moberg for the process. Kent McGee was commended for his outstanding work with Degree Works.
SSPBT Representative for College Planning Committee
Due to the resignation of Patlan from the CPC, SSPBT members unanimously nominated and confirmed Tracy Chung (on her agreement) to replace Patlan.
The CPC is addressing Accreditation recommendations. They are focusing on the Planning Agendas (60) from the last Self-Study (considered a negative) to eliminate as many as possible from the next self-study.
