The mission of the Occupational Training Institute is to prepare
socio-economically disadvantaged students with high-quality employment
services including counseling and advisement, career education, job
placement and retention services while concurrently providing employers
with qualified employees.
The Occupational Training Institute provides high
quality employment focused skills training within the Foothill-De Anza
Community College District. Since 1975, OTI
has prepared
clients to
re-enter the workforce in an abbreviated time frame.
OTI provides services to thousands of clients seeking
job skills and job placement services. Many clients focus on
certificate programs at either the Foothill or the De Anza campuses.
However, OTI program coordinators are skilled at designing
customized programs tailored to meet clients' specific needs. OTI
provides a selection of training programs, which have been tailored to
meet the local job market.
To link our job seekers with employers OTI
provides
accessible staff, job placement expertise, and a thorough knowledge of
clients' skills. As part of the Foothill-De Anza Community College
District, OTI
works closely with all workforce education programs and
is committed to responding to employer needs.
OTI has experienced professionals who are able to assess
employer needs and provide the highest quality services and candidate
referrals. In addition, OTI
provides
employers with employee retention services to stabilize their workforce.

provides employment training at no cost for eligible

Support services include
referrals to child care providers, transportation, assistance with
financial aid, and tutorial services. Other services and referrals are
available on an as needed basis.
You may qualify if you are unemployed due to a company
layoff or closure, if you are receiving cash-aid (TANF)/CalWORKs,
receiving food stamps or if you are seeking employment for a
better job.
