Dear EOPS/CARE Program (Michele, George, Truly, Sylvia, Lily, Melinda, Lan, Chuong, Virginia, Mike, Roxana, Tamara, and the many student workers also Selda),
Throughout my journey here at De Anza College I have faced many challenges as well as obstacles and many times sought the refuge of the EOPS/CARE office. I realize that the EOPS/CARE Program has a tremendous workload and deal with copious amounts of students on a daily basis. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for all your support and guidance. Thank you for all the encouragements and thank you for never letting me give up. Thank you for making me feel as if I was the most important student on campus.
There are so many things that I have learned from the classes I have taken but the most important thing I will take with me is the lesson that EOPS/CARE family has taught me and that is no one person succeeds alone. The work you do does not only changed one person’s life it changes the future generations of that person’s family. Thank you for being a part of my life’s history through your examples of going above and beyond your post and taking the extra time to give me your personal best. I have chosen to go into the Criminal Justice field and for the past two years, I have been a volunteer for a literary program at a Santa Clara County correctional facility.
This gives me the opportunity to advocate education to a community of people who may not find that encouragement in there present situations. I have modeled these activities from examples that the EOPS/CARE family has expressed to me.
