I. Program Review Updates: (M. Pape, SLO Coordinator)

Espinosa-Pieb recapped that the committee was working on updating the Program Review Instrument with the goal of finalizing this document by the end of March. She stressed that this is an opportunity for the committee to make changes. Once complete, it will be distributed to the departments so the committee can start a review in Spring.

The importance of having documentation for future planning and accreditation purposes was emphasized. Espinosa-Pieb reminded the members that Program Review documents also drive FTEF allocation and funding.

Pape presented TracDat, which is the program review information-gathering tool. She asked the members to review this software and requested feedback and suggestions.

Some suggestions included:

-- No blank areas in the drop-down menu; replace with “other”; insert a general box before the end of the page.

-- Faculty Hiring -- add “unless vacancy”

-- “What is the primary mission of your program? “Insert a general box for people to explain”.

TracDat doesn’t support an archive function; Pape advised the committee to refer to the IPBT website: http://www.deanza.edu/gov/IPBT/program_review_files.html

She emphasized that all changes need to be done prior to trainings.

The committee was advised to gather feedback, suggestions/input from their constituency groups, department chairs, and deans.

Espinosa-Pieb will invite Pape to the Deans’ meeting to present the TracDat tool.
