All committee members are expected to collect email from their district email address and use MeetingMaker for meeting times and places.

Proposed hiring committees must be received by 12:00 pm one week before a Senate meeting to be considered for approval.

Committees Needing Faculty


Accreditation Standards Committees - (Tentative) informational meeting POSTPONED to January or February.  Place TBA.

 

NEW! District Hardware & Software Standards Committee needs one more faculty member (with computer technology knowledge) from De Anza.  The committee determines standards for laptop and desktop computer  systems, software for such computers, and sometimes ventures into  other areas of hardware/software such as policies on upgrades, hardware like printers and scanners, etc.  Meetings are on the 3rd or 4th Tuesdays every OTHER month, 3:30-4:30 PM (next one is THIS Tues. Oct. 20 in the Foothill College Campus Center, Los Altos Room).  Location alternates between De Anza (El Milagro room of Learning Center)  and Foothill College.  If interested, please contact Cynthia Lee-Klawender (LeeKlawenderCynthia@deanza.edu ) AND Sharon Luciw (luciwsharon@fhda.edu ).

NEW! The Foothill-De Anza Educational Technology Advisory Committee (ETAC) needs one faculty member.  This committee has primary responsibility for developing an overall strategic plan for technology in the district and maintaining an ongoing implementation effort aimed at achieving the goals of this plan. ETAC is a participatory governance committee at the district level designed to be as inclusive as possible of all constituency groups (administration, faculty, staff, and students) from both college campuses and central services. Meetings are on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, 12:30 - 2:00 P.M. (by teleconference).  If interseted, please email Cynthia (LeeKlawenderCynthia@deanza.edu ).

 

Educational Master Plan Committee for De Anza College.  The Master Plan document is important for guiding college activities into the future.  The Committee will have 2 faculty, 2 classified staff, student, and administrative representation and will provide updates to the College Council.  If interested, please email Cynthia Lee-Klawender (LeeKlawenderCynthia@deanza.edu ) ASAP.

De Anza College Technology Taskforce: The Tech Taskforce advises College Council on technology issues. The Tech Taskforce has representatives from faculty, classified staff, and administrators and  currently meets the third Wednesday of every month from 2:30-4 in Admin. 109.  Current issues under discussion include De Anza College web standards,  technology training, and  EIS (Education Information System) implementation.  Interested faculty can contact Wayne Chenoweth, x5816, chenowethwayne@fhda.edu  .

Faculty for Disciplinary Hearing Board:   The Disciplinary Hearing Board needs a new faculty member AND an alternate faculty member (when a regular member cannot) to hear cases involving student misconduct.  Training is required.  If interested, please contact Michele LeBleu-Burns lebleuburnsmichele@deanza.edu AND Cynthia Lee-Klawender (LeeKlawenderCynthia@deanza.edu )

GE (General Education) Committee: We need more people to be on GE committee if we want more broader dept/div representation.  The GE pattern will be the focus in the upcoming meetings.  Current GE committee members are:

Facilities Committee: This committee meets to discuss changes and upgrades to the campus facilities, including new buildings, remodeling buildings and landscaping.  WE NEED MORE FACULTY REPRESENTATIVES on this committee!  Meeting time: 2nd Tuesday of each month, 3:00-4:00 PM in Admin. 109.  For more information contact: Paula Joseph x8758, josephpaula@deanza.edu

Campus Center Advisory Committee: A campus-wide committee consisting of students, faculty, classified staff, and administrators. This committee meets to discuss policies as they relate to the campus center including food services, conference rooms, and so forth. The committee makes recommendations to College Council. Meeting time: 2nd or 3rd Monday of each month, 2:30 - 3:30 PM in the El Clemente Room of the Campus Center.  For more information contact: Paula Joseph x8758, josephpaula@deanza.edu

Academic Integrity and Disruptive Behavior Committee: The committee's charge will be to review the district's Student Rights and Responsibilities policies, develop procedures to guide faculty in addressing academic dishonesty in their classes, and compile training materials for faculty and staff in reporting and resolving disruptive and dishonest behavior.  The committee meets Wednesdays from 11-12:30.  If interested, please contact Michele Le Bleu at lebleuburnsmichele@deanza.edu

Tenure Review Committees:
At large committee members for tenure review needed for future new hires. Committee for Part-time Faculty Office Space: Two or more faculty (part-time or full-time) needed to discuss ideas for the new part-time faculty office space. More details forthcoming.

The WAITT (We're All In This Together) Senate Subcommittee: The committee of faculty and staff is dedicated to an ongoing campaign to make the college friendly in all ways imaginable and appropriate for members of the college community and especially new and prospective students. Open Educational Resources Senate Subcommittee: This committee of faculty meets to discuss ideas regarding open education resources including the sharing of websites and other resources, best strategies to maintain academic integrity, ways to increase viable resources, and so forth. The committee might have a significant opportunity in the future pending legislation that would establish a center for the development of open educational resources and include a potential $3,000,000 grant at Foothill-De Anza.
