As discussed at yesterday's Executive Bond Committee meeting, I have enclosed copies of:

An allocation strategy for distributing acquisition and labor funds for replacing computers under Measure C funds.

This strategy will allocate existing acquisition and labor funds over the remaining years of the bond on an annual basis and establish a five year replacement cycle for computers. Since there are not enough Measure C funds for computer replacement to support a five year replacement cycle, the allocation of funding for later years is less than what is required necessitating that colleges identify additional funds.

A proposal to partially fund the multimedia engineer from Measure C funds for the installation and replacement of smart classroom (multimedia) equipment.

This proposal will allow us to fund the multimedia engineer partially from Measure C funds, which will continue the current rate of smart classroom multimedia equipment deployment. Without this additional funding (of about $1,040 on a budget of $10,000 to $25,000 per classroom), the Fund 14 budget cuts that ETS will sustain will reduce the number of classrooms by nearly 50%.

It was suggested by members of the committee that you bring these up for discussion at your Technology Task Force meetings.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Fred
