Nursing Faculty Vacancies –Christina Espinosa-Pieb re-capped a current situation of the Nursing department. (see notes, Dec.3, 2019)

The committee was informed that the funding for Nursing faculty positions is coming from a "one-time" pot of money for one year then these positions would be moved to the ongoing fund after retirement in 2021 occurs.

Christina confirmed that one-time money can be used only for the Nursing program.

The department will try to do recruitment for the positions. If the hiring search were unsuccessful then a meeting would take a place in March to discuss the program’s future.

Faculty Hiring for 2020-2021 - Lorrie Ranck confirmed the timeline for the next few meetings:

    • January 7 & 14, 2020 – 16-20 faculty hiring discussion and group work. The goal is to complete a list of 20 faculty positions out of 40 requested.
    • January 17, 2020 – request IPBT to submit their ranking list.
    • January 21, 2020 – the result will be presented to the IPBT for approval.
    • January 23, 2020 – the list will be recommended to College Council for approval.

Having confirmed the timeline Lorrie reminded the members that only 8 positions would be approved and hired. She asked members to review – “Fall 2019 Faculty Requests IPBT Master” spreadsheet. The team clarified the details of the document, broke into groups and started work.

Mary Pape notified the team that a few columns were added to the data sheet document of the Enrollment, Fall 2019; % F/T, Fall 2019; % P/T, Fall 2019 & % Overload, Fall 2019. These percentages were to see the changes after the SRP (Supplemental Retirement Plan).
