Approval of Notes – May 21, 2019 notes were approved with a few corrections. Erik Woodbury should be listed as present; Lisa Markus, Dawn Lee Tu, and Rex Zhang need to be added as guests. 

DASB Report Out – Halina Liang presented DASB committee meeting updates from May 15th, 2019.

Input is needed on the future of the Flint Center. The Board of Trustees is open to suggestions and will consider all recommendations on June 10th, 2019.

Students In Shared Governance (second review)

Best practices for Students In Shared Governance document was presented by Genevieve Kolar and Rex Zhang.

  • IPBT student reps: DASB will be filling in two more open seats.
  • The committee’s role is to mentor new upcoming student reps, help them to understand the process, rules and functions of the committee.
  • Kolar announced Bylaw Change – Article VII First Read. This item is to review proposed changes to Senate bylaw Article VII: Shared Governance Committees.

IPBT unanimously approved to adopt the document, “Best Practices for Student Voices in Shared Governance.”

Program Review Document Review – Check in with group and continue work.

Questions that come up in your group reviews/discussions should be directed to Mary Pape. The questions will be re-sent to the deans, so that they can start working with their departments and prepare for the upcoming presentations.

The resource allocation workbook has been sent to the deans.

All requested items must be listed in Program Reviews; only new requests will be considered for funding; identify new faculty requests, track programs’ fill rate, success rate, closing Equity gaps.

Divisions’ resource allocation requests are due to the Office of Instruction on June 3rd, 2019.

Faculty Hiring is unclear at this point. Most likely would be reviewed in Fall 2019.

The team split into groups to continue discussion of resource allocations.
