Dear Students,

We wanted to give you an update about the coronavirus, since it has been a topic of news reports and conversation in recent days.

The college is continuing to monitor the situation. As a precaution, additional cleaning and sanitizing measures have been underway. But it’s important to note that federal, state and county health officials say the risk to the general public remains low.

Experts agree the best way to protect yourself from respiratory illnesses, including both coronavirus and the common flu, is to take common-sense measures such as washing hands frequently, covering coughs and sneezes, avoiding close contact with others who are sick – and staying home when you are sick.

We’ll keep you posted if further updates are needed. Please also check the

De Anza College Student Health Services website

which we're keeping updated with the latest advice from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Santa Clara County Public Health Department.

Best wishes,
De Anza College
