OBJECTIVES

  • Create a Latina political pipeline
  • Prepare Latinas to advance politically in Santa Clara County (SCC)
  • Develop partnerships and linkages among Latinas in SCC and an enduring networking system with hermanas
  • Develop the skills to be an effective change agent and leader grounded in social justice
  • Formulate strategies to empower immigrant latinas to organize for community change

Academia 2010 Schedule

Fridays 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Saturdays 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Sunday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

August 6-7, August 13-14, August 20-21 and September 10-12

Qualifications
Eligible applicants must
  • Reside in Santa Clara County (preferably)
  • Have a demonstrated record in community and civic engagement
  • Have goals that are aligned with the Latina Leadership Academia goals
  • Commit to 100% participation
  • Submit a $100 application fee before the deadline
