Queer and Now Conference

Queer and Now is the annual LGBTQ+ conference at De Anza College that focuses on the larger and local LGBTQ+ community, student success, equity, intersectionality and social justice concerns.

This year, the tenth annual Queer and Now conference will focus on the theme, "Cultivating Queer Roots," and will feature a keynote address, queer creative arts workshop, session on LGBTQ+ issues, a Vogue and Tone workshop and performance by Jocquese!

This year's keynote speaker, Bamby Salcedo, is a prominent and celebrated Latina activist. As the president and CEO of the TransLatin@Coalition, Salcedo advocates for and addresses the issues of transgender Latinas throughout the United States. She received her master's degree in Mexican Latin@ Studies from California State University, Los Angeles, and also established the Center for Violence Prevention and Transgender Wellness, a multipurpose, multiservice space for trans people in Los Angeles.
