Bookstore Launches New Adoption Tool and Online Store

De Anza’s new Bookstore partner has officially launched its online store, along with a new textbook adoption tool that is now available to faculty members who wish to begin ordering course materials for winter quarter.

The Bookstore’s new shopping site is now live at deanzastore.com. Students can shop online for course materials and supplies, including backpacks, laptops and other items. College-branded merchandise will be coming soon, along with course materials for winter quarter.

The new Bookstore operator is Follett Higher Education Group, which has partnered with the Foothill-De Anza Community College District to manage and operate the Bookstores at both De Anza and Foothill colleges.

Follett plans to reopen the campus Bookstore at De Anza for in-person shopping at a future date, after more students return to campus, with limited in-person services beginning in December.

The new partnership is aligned with De Anza's continued drive to lower the cost of textbooks and course materials for our students – including the college's longstanding efforts to promote Open Educational Resources and other free or low-cost digital, rental and used course material options.

Follett, which operates more than 1,100 college and university bookstores across the United States and Canada, brings the advantages of extensive supply chain, economies of scale and new technology. The company offers the nation’s largest textbook rental program, an extensive selection of used, digital, new and OER materials, and a price-matching program.

Training on use of the Follett Discover adoption tool was offered during the district Opening Day workshops in September. Additional training opportunities will be announced in coming weeks.
