Supervision and Administration of Child Development Programs (Management Systems)


Course Description

This course is an introduction to the administration of early childhood programs and covers program types, budget, management, regulations, laws, and the development and implementation of policies and procedures. It examines administrative tools, philosophies, and the techniques needed to organize, open, and operate an early care and education program. (This course meets NAEYC Standard 6 and California ECE Competencies: Administration & Supervision.)

C D -059G-50Z-: This is an online class that has scheduled meetings through Zoom. Attendance is required each week on Wednesdays from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. Other assignments will be completed and submitted each week, as you would for a face-to-face course. Students must have access to a computer, the internet and an individual email address. We recommend a laptop or desktop computer to successfully complete the course; a tablet or phone will not be adequate for all assignments and tests. Most De Anza classes will use the Canvas course management system.
