College Major and Career Options


Course Description

This course helps students to identify compatible college majors and career options by completing a variety of self-assessment inventories. Students will examine how individual, family, social, and cultural perspectives influence the college major and career decision-making process. The course will review college major and career myths, the purpose and structure of higher education, and organizational structures found in employment settings.

Limitation(s) on Enrollment: Students may enroll in either CLP D005. or CLP D007., but not both, for credit.

CLP-005.-51Z: This is a six-week class from 2/20/23 - 3/31/23. This is an online class and can be completed independently each week on the student's own time. Students must have access to a computer, the internet and an individual email address. Most De Anza classes will use the Canvas course management system. We recommend a laptop or desktop computer to successfully complete the course; a tablet or phone may not be adequate for all assignments and tests.
