Adapted Physical Education (APE)

Program Description: The mission of the APE program is to provide students with disabilities the accommodations needed to effectively participate in physical education. APE is looking for exercise assistants to help students with their individual programs and reach their personal fitness goals through a variety of physical activity courses.

Program Description: Our goal is to promote Asian Pacific American student empowerment and leadership through community awareness and involvement.

California History Center Silicon Valley Documentation Project - oral histories

Program Description: The California History Center and Foundation present exhibits, offer classes with De Anza College, publish books and a periodical, and operate a library and archives. Special events including lectures, panel discussions and workshops are also featured.

De Anza Child Development and Education

Program Description: This project consists of training 10 De Anza students to assist eligible DACA students fill out their DACA applications.

Higher Education for AB540 Students at De Anza College (HEFAS)

Program Description: HEFAS is an institutional and educational program that will provide resources, reduce financial stress, and create a safe learning environment for all students with an emphasis/including on undocumented AB540. We are dedicated to empower students, build leadership skills, promote social justice, and advocate for higher education.

Program Description: The Office of Equity, Social Justice and Multicultural Education promotes - through programs and services - an academic, cultural and social environment that provides equity, social justice and academic success for all members of the De Anza College campus community. It supports the district and college missions, which consider diversity an essential component of student education in the 21st century.

Transition

Program Description: Transition is a student group that advocates for better transportation options to De Anza College, including Bus Rapid Transit; a faster, frequent, and reliable form of public transportation. Our goal is to provide viable alternatives to the automobile so more students can get an education without wasting time on slow bus service or stuck in traffic.

Step Up Tutoring

Program Description: Step Up Tutoring is a nonprofit that provides high-impact tutoring to help close the opportunity gap. They give you everything you need for successful, 1:1, online tutoring, whether you’re a potential tutor, potential student, or a school or district looking to partner with them. Their mission is to drive student success by providing virtual high-impact tutoring and mentorship to elementary and middle school students in under-resourced communities. They recruit, train, and support mission-driven high-value tutors to provide individualized academic support and boost habits of success. They focus on three key outcomes: improve academic gains, increase academic confidence, and foster positive relationships between students and tutors.
