The Student Facilitator Training Program is proud to facilitate the annual Partners In Learning Conference, but that's not all we do. We facilitate for several campus events and community conversations, giving our students experience in guiding and managing a diverse array of group discussions.

"[The Mobilize.org summit] was a truly inspiring and empowering experience that exceeded every expectation I had as a participant and a facilitator..." -- M.S., student facilitator 2011

Partners In Learning Conference

The Partners in Learning Conference is an annual event that brings together De Anza faculty, staff, and administrators to discuss important topics related to education. The Student Facilitator Training Program has facilitated this great event since 2010.

For student trainees, the conference is the culmination of all their hard work and a chance to use their facilitation skills outside the classroom.

 - LGBTQI pride week awareness
 - Remembering Trayvon
 - Discussion on affirmative action
 - Suicide prevention and anti-bullying awareness
"I think this is a perfect example of moving more closely to student-centered teaching and learning. This is a program that truly holds students at the core and invites them to serve as leaders, reminding faculty of our own humility and endless role as learners. I learn so much from the students and am reminded that we should co-facilitate this process of learning, daily... Thank you!" -- Veronica Neal, Faculty Director

Puente

Puente works to build bridges to higher education for De Anza's historically underserved students. Puente co-coordinator Alicia Cortez has encouraged many of the program's students to enroll in the Student Facilitator Training Program.
"Congrats to Donna! You do amazing work and I am so happy that many of our students have taken part in the class and training. Many claim this experience to be one of their most memorable at De Anza!... I know that the true heart and spirit lies within you! Celebrate your accomplishments! -- Alicia Cortez, Puente Co-coordinator and Counselor

Communication Studies Career Day
