Find Success, Support + Friends With Umoja

Dear Student,

Would you like to join fellow De Anza students in a program designed to connect you with new friends, resources and academic support?

The Umoja Learning Community is designed to promote academic success and help you prepare for university transfer – while exploring historic and cultural contributions from across the African Diaspora.

Request Information

Umoja is a cohort program, which means you take some required classes together with your group. You can also enjoy related activities outside the classroom and get extra support from the full-time Umoja academic counselor.

First-time students who join Umoja and certain other Learning Communities at De Anza may qualify to attend Summer Bridge, a helpful and fun introduction to college that will be held on campus, Aug. 28-31.

You can learn more about this Learning Community by visiting deanza.edu/umoja. If you’re interested, be sure to submit the online form so we can follow up with you and answer any questions you may have.

We look forward to seeing you this fall!
