Basic Needs

This page provides an overview of students self-reported basic needs based on survey data over the past three years when the survey was administered. Basic needs support is an essential element of student success and should be an essential element to any strategic plan and goals of the college.

Based on surveys of students’ needs over the past three years, results show that students struggle with the most essential basic needs of housing and food security. Further, African American/Black, Latinx, Native American, Pacific Islander and students who do not identify as male or female have higher rates of food and housing insecurities than other student groups.
