Winter 2025 will be the last quarter we will offer Math 31, precalculus, and this is the last year we will be offering Math 32, precalculus.

Why Study Mathematics?

Mathematics reveals hidden patterns that help us understand the world around us.

Now much more than arithmetic and geometry, mathematics today is a diverse discipline that deals with data, measurements and observations from science; with inference, deduction and proof; and with mathematical models of natural phenomena, human behavior and social systems.

Getting Started

Help With Math Registration

If you are registering for MATH 10, MATH 31 or MATH 3with a corequisite or companion course, be sure to check out our Math Registration Tips webpage.

Always check course prerequisites when planning your schedule of classes. To view course prerequisites, check the listings in the department's course catalog. Plan well in advance to submit your prerequisite clearance request form if you think you've already met the prerequisite requirement through another college.

To clear your prerequisites, you may send your completed form with unofficial transcripts to the Admissions Office Evaluations Unit at daclearprereq@deanza.edu or to the Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Engineering Division at dapsme@deanza.edu.

If you need extra support in math check out the MPS Program. We offer extra class time, counselling, and tutoring. To find MPS courses in the class schedule, look for a section number that contains "MP" – such as 01MP, 02MP and so forth. If you encounter an error code when trying to add a MPS section please contact the MPS program by sending an email to mps@deanza.edu.
