New Village Spaces Opening Soon

All Are Welcome to Attend Open Houses on Valentine's Day

Beginning next month, each Guided Pathways Village at De Anza will have a physical space on campus where students can hang out or meet with other students, faculty and classified professionals in their Village.

We [heart] Our Villages

The new Village Spaces are designed to be welcoming places where students can meet their peers and find services – such as counseling, help with financial aid and more. Each space will also be a meeting place for Village activities and programs.

The spaces will have comfortable furniture, video screens for activities that may be offered both online and in person, and special artwork created for each Village. Coordinators for De Anza's Guided Pathways initiative are planning for academic counselors and other student services representatives to be available for students who drop in at certain times.

“What we’re hoping is that those students who are sometimes intimidated by going to an office will come to this space and we can meet them there,” explained Kim Palmore, a Guided Pathways co-coordinator.

Students and college employees are invited to drop by their Village Space on Valentine's Day – Tuesday, Feb. 14 – for a special open house with snacks, prizes and fun activities.
