- A "prerequisite" is a requirement that you must complete a certain course before you can take another course.
- A "corequisite" is a requirement that you take a certain course at the same time that you are enrolled in another course.
You may not have to take a prerequisite or corequisite at De Anza if you can satisfy certain criteria, which is sometimes called "clearing a prerequisite."
