Graduation News

Meet Roary!

RoaryCome meet Roary, our new mascot, for the first time ever at the 2023 Commencement! Say hi or take a picture with him on the red carpet to make it a truly unforgettable night. Be sure to keep an eye out for him at future events.

Graduation Updates

De Anza will hold its 56th annual commencement on Saturday, July 1, beginning at 4 p.m. in the Santa Clara Convention Center, 5001 Great America Parkway, Santa Clara, California.

grads in a groupYou can order your graduation regalia now. Grad Packs — which include a graduation gown, cap, tassel and diploma cover — and affinity stoles are available for purchase online at deanzastore.com. Items can be picked up at the campus Bookstore or shipped to you directly – a tracking email will let you know when your regalia has arrived. You should order online by TODAY, Monday, June 12, to receive regalia in time for graduation. Otherwise, you can shop for your regalia in store.

Remember: You must apply for your degree no later than Wednesday, June 21, if you want to have your name included in the printed graduation program. You can apply by submitting the online form to the Admissions and Records Office.

Transferring? If you are transferring, you are invited to sign up for the Transfer Achievement Celebration on June 21 or complete the Share Your Good News form if you can’t attend the event.

Spotlight

Graduation Cap Decorating

Attend a graduation cap decorating session today through Thursday. Hosted by EOPS, General Counseling and Advising, International Student Programs, the Transfer Center and the De Anza College Bookstore, these sessions allow students to get creative and prepare for graduation:

  • Monday, June 12, from 9 a.m.-noon
  • Tuesday, June 13, from 9 a.m.-noon
  • Wednesday, June 14, from noon-3 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 15, from noon-3 p.m.

Art supplies will be provided, and you can also bring your own. Please RSVP in advance as space is limited.

Awards and Honors

Athletics

women's Badminton team 2023De Anza student athletes are ending the year on a high note:

  • Courtney Seljeseth won three gold medals at the state Swimming and Diving championships last month and was named Female Co-Swimmer of the Year by the California Community College Athletic Association. Seljeseth is transferring to UCLA on a full-ride scholarship.
  • Travis Martin won a gold medal in the hammer throw during the state Track and Field championships. Martin is transferring to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo on a full-ride scholarship as well.
  • The women’s Badminton team won their second consecutive state championship – and completed their second consecutive undefeated season – by defeating Pasadena City College 11-0 in the finals. Sophomore player Madison Moe also won the state singles championship. She’ll be transferring to San Diego State this fall.
