The candidate who generated the 4th highest number of votes would occupy the 1-year term on IPBT, while the 3 candidates who generated the 1st through 3rd highest number of votes would occupy 2-year terms on IPBT.
        • Final tally counted by Cheryl Balm and Mary Sullivan resulted in three candidates with the most number of votes: Diana Alves de Lima, Anu Khanna, Rick Maynard.  These three won 2-year terms on IPBT.
        • Final tally also resulted in a tie between Rich Booher and Wendy White for the 4th seat for the 1 year term
        • Run-off ballot write-in vote resulted in Rich Booher winning the 4th seat for the 1-year term.

Financial Report & Request For Funds for Area B ASCCC meeting
    • Alicia presented the Academic Senate Financial Report. Some discussion took place about the expenses.
    • Senators asked for Academic Senate dues form after seeing that only 167 faculty are currently monthly dues-paying members.  Alicia noted that she will update the form, but that for now, faculty can still use the current form to start monthly $5 Academic Senate dues paystub deduction
    • Karen requested $525.00 to provide 35 lunches for Area B ASCCC (statewide Academic Senates of the California Community Colleges) meeting guests at De Anza on Friday, October 12, from 10:00 to 2:00 in Hinson Conference Room A.  The Area B region represents Academic Senate Presidents and Vice Presidents from the greater Bay Area (from the South Bay to North Bay) CA community colleges
    • Rob Clem, motioned to approve, Cheryl Balm seconded, discussion was held.   $525 for hosting Area B meeting was approved
    • Karen announced that the October 29 Academic Senate meeting will be a Joint Academic Senate meeting with Foothill Academic Senate at Foothill College.  She reminded Executive Committee that they were sent an Outlook meeting invitation to the joint academic senate meeting, and the purpose is for both colleges’ Senates to discuss ASCCC Fall Plenary resolutions prior to the Senate delegates/Presidents attending and voting on resolutions at  the Fall Plenary.
      • Bob S - requested that the Executive Committee be sent the resolution passed last Spring by the body stating lack of confidence in the current CCC chancellor.

Results of Student Survey on Food, Housing, and Transportation Insecurity
    • Mallory Newell and Ola Sabawi presented the results of the survey conducted in Spring 2018 on Food, Housing, and Transportation Insecurity.  A significantly higher number of students participated in this survey than in past surveys. Mallory noted that it was the first time that she received emails from students requesting to participate.  The 11% student survey response rate is significantly higher than the typical 5% survey response rate. Having well over 50% of the Survey respondents report housing and transportation insecurity is a sobering result to note.  Senators noted that resources such as campus Food Bank, the weekly Farmer’s Market, and  the Safe Parking program at West Valley College should be widely disseminated.

Program Review Data Tool & Inquiry Tool
    • Mallory and Ola reviewed the Program Review Data Tool and the Inquiry Tool that is available for faculty to find and view course data on an department course to collegewide level (Program Review Data Tool).  The Inquiry Tool can be used to find and view individual’s own course data and compare to department-wide and collegewide level.
